The Art of the Cello From Beethoven to Rostropovich, this recording of cello masterpieces showcases the artistry and diversity of the cello repertoire. Drawing from his many musical influences, Dmitry Kouzov effortlessly weaves through a variety of composers and styles, creating a beautiful mosaic of classic and contemporary music. The result is an outstanding collection of work that is diverse and entertaining. Kouzov pays homage to the late Rostropovich in the humorous and challenging Humoresque Op. 5 and premieres Beara, an original work of contemporary American composer Sean Hickey. Pianist Peter Laul accompanies Kousov in performing favourites by Beethoven, Schumann and Shostakovich. Dmitry Kouzov has collaborated with world renowned artists and is a member of the Phaedrus String Quartet.
