The members of the Chinook Trio - Gloria Saarinen, paino; Susan Hoeppner, flute; and Amanda Forsyth, cello - formed their ensemble in 1988 to perform standard repertoire, along with lesser known masterpieces and solos and contemporary works written especially for them. They tour in across North America and have appeared in Japan on several occasions.

Gloria Saarinen
Gloria Saarinen, a pianist from New Zealand, has built a life in music that has enhanced Calgary's musical assets and been recognized on international concert platforms. In addition to an active performing career, she works hard to teach and guide gifted students. She also uses her considerable energy to organize and promote serious programs by other musicians available to the city of Calgary.
