The InTime
Quintet

The works of Astor Piazzolla -the man turned from a cult composer to a present day classic -represent a musical style that can justly be considered as one of the boldest of our century. The way he felt about the tango of his hometown Buenos Aires turned out to be an inimitable mixture of Argentinean tango, modern concert music and jazz (among other things!). In its cosmopolitanism the New Tango - tango nuevo -can truly be regarded as World Music.

The InTime Quintet has specialised on the Piazzolla tangos with fantastic results. "Their interpretation is genuine and true to the original, on the other hand personal", stated Jukka Hauru in Helsingin Sanomat, Finland's biggest newspaper. The InTime came to the knowledge of the music world after winning the first International Astor Piazzolla Competition in 1994 in Castelfidardo, Italy. The members of the jury included musicians Antonio Agri and Jose Bragato. The ensemble has performed largely in Finland, in concert halls, jazz clubs, and at numerous festivals on television and radio.

The InTime musicians are: Markku Lindeman - accordion; Henrik Perell— - violin; Jari Salmela - piano; Jorma Salmela - guitar; Hannu Siiskonen - bass
