My Heart Soars

The reviewers say:
Choral Review:"The disc's subtitle says it all. And after listening to this "celebration," your heart will certainly be soaring...  It's always impressive to hear young voices trained to such a high standard, and to bear such confident singing and sensitive ensemble... This is a first rate recording that takes a place of equal importance beside two other programs that should be in your collection-Dancing Day and Mostly Britten, also on Marquis Classics." - David Vernier

Dancing Day

Many of the tracks are on the compilation: "A Ceremony of Carols"

Reviewers of this recording say:
CD Review:

"This disc, which includes the world premiere of John Rutter's Dancing Day (a 1974 work for choir and harp) and many rarely heard Christmas songs and carols, scores major points for its programming alone. Among the highlights are Nancy Telfer's "Carol," Ruth Watson Henderson's "The Robin," and a gorgeous piece by Debussy, "Noel Des Enfants." The disc's strongest asset, however, is its performers. I doubt there is a better, more technically polished and musically sophisticated children's choir anywhere; nor is there a finer harpist than Judy Loman. Exemplary singing, engaging repertoire, irresistibly unaffected and enchanting children's voices - this is one of the all-time must-have Christmas recordings."
Performance 10/10 and Sound Quality 10/10 - David Vernier

Ottawa Citizen:
"Dancing Day is a perennial favorite. The title refers to John Rutter's Christmas cantata of the same name, one of the authentic seasonal classics of recent decades... The Toronto Children's Chorus sings beautifully." - Richard Todd

Amazon.com:
"Britten wrote many works specifically for treble voices and this disc provides a delicious, delightful sampling of some of the best-sung by one of the world's outstanding children's choirs. The collection of songs known as Friday Afternoons contains 12 settings of various poems--lighthearted, funny, serious, silly--whose skillfully crafted melodies perfectly suit the range and timbre of children's voices. "The Birds" is one of Britten's tiniest, most poignant masterpieces. Less than two minutes long, it is a perfect expression of childhood wonder and innocence in the person of the child Christ. Other highlights are an impressive performance of the difficult Missa Brevis, and, of course A Ceremony of Carols, which these singers present with uncommon precision and musicality." --David Vernier
