New Releases - Who gets what
New release CDs are mailed free to key media - the number of
promo units available varies by release. If you aren't sent a CD,
you will receive new release information (by mail or e-mail). If
you want a play or review copy, request one by phone, fax, e-mail
or snail mail. A limited number of free "on request" CDs
are set aside for each new release, and distributed first come,
first served.
As we have limited numbers of promotional CDs, we may not be able
to ship all new release titles requested. CDs may be purchased for
$5 if you need additional copies, or after our supply of new release
free units has run out.
Ordering
Additional copies of new releases and back catalogue CDs may be purchased
for $5 per CD. Payment is by cheque, international money order or Visa
or MasterCard.
So how do I get on the "key media" list to get free new
release CDs?
Larger markets and national media have the best chance of being regularly
serviced. But other factors affect our choice, including artist tour schedules,
and past experience with your station/paper/magazine.
It really makes a difference if you are a fully qualified name on
our media list. Make sure we have complete information, including
basic mail, phone, fax and e-mail info, and:
If you are a radio station media contact, do we know your
title, and have complete information about your station’s
format? How much music is programmed by your station, and
what is your weekly audience?
If you are a newspaper or magazine, we need circulation information,
and the basis on which you select CDs for review (eg. Only
artists in town for a concert, etc.)
Is this "key media" list a secret list? No. Call us
any time to update your information and discuss your company’s
priority on our mailing list.
Radio Station Policy - Fundraising and Special Promotions
Marquis is committed to supporting all of our friends in radio.
Send us your fund-raising proposal in writing (e-mail is fine),
telling us the purpose of the promotion, the broadcast dates and
number of CDs you would like. In-stock titles are available for
$5.00 per disc.
Our evolving web site
Our web site is still evolving, and will gradually include more information
for our media friends. And in our media section, we will be adding pronouncers
- especially for our Welsh titles! In the meantime, please feel free
to send us your suggestions and comments.
