(Page 4) February 6, 2004 - Lenny Solomon, classical and jazz violinist and the driving force behind the Bowfire, Trio Norté and Galaxy Trio ensembles, has been nominated "Favourite Violinist" at the Canadian Independent Music Awards. The awards known as "The Indies" are Canadian Music Week's Opening Night party, kicking off the festivities for the CMW Music Festival, running from March 3 - 6.

February 3, 2004 - Youkali Hotel, the one-hour television programme starring Patricia O'Callaghan has been nominated as Best Music Programme in the prestigious international Rose d'Or (Golden Rose) competition. Winners will be announced in Lucerne, Switzerland in mid-April. The show was produced by Rhombus International Inc.

September 13, 2003 - Preparations continue for Alfie Zappacosta's new CD, coming soon on Marquis. Today it was time for a photo shoot in downtown Toronto with noted photographer Ivan Otis.
September 8, 2003 - Flautist Susan Hoeppner is working on a new CD for Marquis. She invited talented colleagues to join her on the recording: harpist Judy Loman; violist Steven Dann; cellist Amanda Forsyth; violinist Annalee Patipatanakoon; violinist Erika Raum; and clarinetist Joaquin Valdepenas. To be released in the spring, the repertoire includes music by Jolivet, Roussel, Ravel, and Debussy. More photos from the recording session.
August 5, 2003 - Patricia O'Callaghan is back in the studio recording more songs for her next CD, scheduled for release in the spring of 2004. Steve Page of the Barenaked Ladies was in the studio to produce three songs and sing two duets with Patricia. More photos from the recording session.

July 11, 2003 - The Nathaniel Dett Chorale began recording their second CD for Marquis - "An Indigo Christmas". Recording took place at St George the Martyr Church in Toronto. June 20, 2003 - Tomorrow is the launch of the summer concert season at the Westben Arts Festival Theatre, a non-profit organization created to bring world-class artists to the Campbellford area of Southern Ontario to perform on stage with a backdrop that only Northumberland County can provide. Founded and run by Donna Bennett and Brian Finley, the first concert features the popular Lehar Opera The Merry Widow, performed by the Opera School of the University of British Columbia. Concerts continue until the end of September. Guest artists include the Hannaford Street Silver Band, pianist Robert Silverman, and the Cantabile Women's Choir.
